I read this post this morning while thinking of my cousin Miriam, who is, at this very moment, in surgery, having a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction (a 10-hour procedure) at the age of 38. She has an aggressive form of breast cancer and her kids are now used to her being without hair, being tired, being sick, and I can only pray that all of them can keep going for the long haul.

    I hate this.

You are wise beyond your years, Mama Singer.

It’s ok to catch your breath. You’ll call that neighbor when you’re ready, and I’m sure you will be a great help to her just like you were to your dear friend.

I’d like to know why there is so much cancer period.
