YES! I had the same reaction. While I absolutely love the show, I am not looking forward to chemo round #1. I remember that chair all too well.

And on behalf of Haddie – who has been through many adult situations already – I was so angry that they lied to her. She WILL find out. She WILL be angry and hurt and feel betrayed.

Our kids do not deserve to deal with cancer (who does??), but they do deserve to be treated with respect and honesty. We want to protect them from everything harmful, but we can’t. We can, however, know that the way we help them cope will shape the adults they become.

I’m totally disgusted with this show’s writers. Have they had no real “real life” experience to draw upon, or is the ‘deception, only to reveal the truth apologetically later’ the only character development/plot propulsion device they have imaginative access to? I’m only half way through season 2 and my cats are already traumatized. Seriously re-thinking my desire to see Crosby and Adam’s music thing happen (a friend recommended because of this). I don’t think I’ve seen any of the threads yet NOT turn on ‘lying to loved ones.’ grrrrrrrr
